AI Policy
JDDIEA supports responsible use of AI tools while protecting research integrity, transparency, and confidentiality.
For authors (allowed)
Authors may use AI tools for language improvement, grammar correction, formatting assistance, and brainstorming, provided the scientific content remains accurate and verifiable.
For authors (not allowed)
AI tools must not be used to fabricate results, generate fake data, manipulate images, or create unverifiable claims. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality and correctness of the work.
Disclosure requirement
If AI tools were used in a meaningful way (beyond basic spelling/grammar), authors should disclose this in the manuscript (e.g., acknowledgements or methods), including the tool name and what it was used for.
Authorship and accountability
AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Human authors are accountable for content accuracy, citations, ethical compliance, and data integrity.
For reviewers (confidentiality)
Reviewers must not upload manuscripts, figures, or confidential content to public AI tools or third-party systems that may store or reuse the content. Manuscripts under review are confidential.
For reviewers (assistive use)
Reviewers may use private, compliant tools for limited assistance (e.g., summarization) only if confidentiality is maintained and the final review judgment is their own.
